No Titles in Heaven

This morning, I went for the pool routine (Yes, still wearing the bag on my head during the rare occasion that I decide to swim awkwardly while the lifeguard just sits there).  Then I went to the hot tub.  It's nice just to be in there alone in this little room with just me and my thoughts.

I thought to myself.

How great will it be in heaven when/where there are no titles.  It won't matter if you're the an m.d., asst., exec., ceo, fry tosser, associate, whatever.  None of it will matter.  Only one name will matter.

There also won't be any clout or connections. Only one connection will matter.  It won't matter who your daddy is or how much money he made investing into the heaven company.  It won't matter if your husband is a big wig.  It won't matter if your family is the largest provider of alcohol or grain or barley in the whole place.  None of it will matter.  The only relationship that will matter in heaven, is the one you have with God.

I think this thinking started because at my job, little by little, I am learning that everyone has some connection.  I know this is true anywhere, and I wouldn't be in my position if I didn't have my friend Kristen who connected me to her friend Wendy at the staffing agency who set me up for this interview, but the people at my job didn't really know me or my skills.  I have continued to prove myself, though, that's neither here nor there.

Half of our staff is there because of who their father is and how much money he has, and in some cases, how many millions of dollars he has invested in our company.  I get that this is how it all works, but won't it be lovely there in heaven?!  We won't have to google anybody to understand where they fall on the scale or to find out WHO they are.

It's all even ground.  no titles.  no clout.  no previous relationship. no status.  and only one name matters there. #JESUS
