I turned the tv on this morning to this show on FS SOUTH LIVE, which I assume means Fox Sports south Live. It's a show with all these guys hanging out in a cool space in Chicago, I think, and it's this guy Dan Patrick (again, I assume) sitting there doing a radio show (he has the headphones and big mic in front of him) and then there are 5 other guys in the room sitting in front of their computers with mics and headphones so they can join in.
I've been watching for the past hour, now they are taking calls. The show is sorta about sports, but then they were also debating on whether Jenny McCarthy or Jim Carrey got the better end of the deal (that was a 5-10 minute conversation). Then in another clip this one guy was in one of the closets doing a (confessional) about how female viewers think he is hotter than the other guys. All the men on the show are like over 35yo.
Now they are talking about another football player...it's what you would think "girl talk" is but it's about an athlete and how he may do on Monday night.
I'm taking notes.
My friends think I'm joking when I am talking about my public access show, but I just think they are so funny that people would enjoy the crazy stories, silly banter and words/looks that come out of my friends faces. I mean THEY ARE FUNNY!!!
they close with a "What did we learn?" at the end of she as they are going out. Several of the people have nicknames...this may help viewers recognize them and give them a loyalty. It's totally all thought out and scripted. It's set up like it's just these guys hanging in an office talking sports crap. Oh and they have a basketball goal. Another segment in the show is "Cougar of the Week"
If they can do this, then I can do one that's cooler.
I attended public access Producer's education workshop before I left NYC. My first class track that I'm going to take is called Express Studio. With Express Studio, it's just this little room that you go into so I don't have to have a whole crew of people.
i think my first show in a couple months when I can do it, I'm going to interview my friend Bekah who left yesterday to travel the world. In the express studio, there isn't a lot of editing, so the quality isn't going to be up to you know, a huge production, but it would be fun to learn little at a time.
then on another one, I want merr, deb, ash and em - skype in! yeah!!
Debbie knows...she was like "why not!!" haha!! the beautiful thing about being on nyc public access is that no one outside of nyc can see it, unless ya post online!
Some will be super funny, pop culture, talkin shit about funny stuff that's going on and then also think it would be cool to have a platform to tell people's stories. Everyone has a story to tell, there's so much you can learn from others experiences - both good and bad.
Then the next track I can take will allow me to learn editing and final cut pro...isn't that cool?!
I've also met some interesting people there. This one jersey smart kid that was there. He knew lots about production and kept asking the instructor questions. The production workshop instructor was this tall African american woman with a gorgeous smile a mile wide. The training girl is named Stephanie and she remembered my name which I liked. I now refer to her as my friend, Stephanie.
Anyways, if Dan Patrick and this boys club can have a show...I can too! Also note, they have their computers out, as if they are searching stuff online, but certain it's all plan and scripted. ... I'm takin' notes.

Boy do I ever have some life stories to share, good and bad... I've thought many times about writing a book!
I think you are gradually becoming much smarter than I had been telling people you were. The world is a funny place.
